The Essential PH-1 designed by Android’s co-founder Andy Rubins was initially priced at $699 in par with the other premium flagship smartphones. However, as the sales of the same didn’t even touch the line of anticipation due to the preposterous price tag for the first time smartphone maker.

However, the OEM hasn’t forgotten about the users who just bought the smartphone, in fact, the company is offering a $200 of cash back voucher on Essential homepage using registered e-mail ID and IMEI number of your essential phone. This voucher can be used to purchase additional accessories from the OEM with no minimum bill policy. In fact, one can buy a second Essential phone for just $299 and the voucher from the already existing Essential phone.

Even though the Essential PH-1 ran on stock Android Nougat 7.1 without any customisation, the device wasn’t performing as expected from a premium flagship smartphone. Constant errors and crashes were reported by the tech enthusiasts. And finally, the mediocre dual camera performance didn’t wow either fans or tech analysts.

However, as these problems can be solved using a software update, the company should really work hard to achieve love from the fan base, which is already impressed with the vendors like Apple and Samsung.

Though the device offers the best design and build-quality (uses premium materials like Titanium and Ceramic, which are stronger and better than the materials used in the other flagship smartphones (Glass, Aluminium, and Steel). So, especially at the newer price tag, this smartphone makes sense when it comes to the value for money ratio.

As the phone packs the best hardware in the market, including a high-resolution QHD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, the device is directly up against any flagship Android or iOS smartphone in the market.
