Social Media giant Facebook has been always trying to update its things and introducing new features to their apps. Two years before Facebook had introduced Messenger kids app in the US, Peru, and Canada. It did not get extended to the rest of the world.

Now, Facebook has decided to deliver the Messenger kids app to over 70 countries around the world with new features. Some of the countries are Brazil, India, Japan, and New Zealand, etc where kid-focused messaging service is already available. Parents can now control their child’s activities on the Messenger app.

Facebook has taken a lot of time to expand this service to the rest of the world. Facebook says that it is launching in more countries as children around the world are having to learn remotely while schools remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Parental Controls:

Facebook has also explained how both parents and children can use this service. Parents can allow their children to control their friend requests on their own rather than having to manage every request on their behalf. However, parents will still receive notifications about their children’s activities regarding friend requests. If, parents find any request as inappropriate they can override any connections.

Parents can also take a look over their kid’s Facebook groups. They can approve an adult-like teacher, coach or another parent to manage group chats of their children. This service of Facebook has been controversial last year. There was an error in the implementation, which allowed children to create group chats with the people that their parents hadn’t approved. Facebook has taken a lot of care this time and they are more concentrating on privacy and security.

Messenger Kids app will roll out in the markets today. However, friend requests and group chats control features will be available in the US now and soon will roll out internationally in the coming days.
