Flipkart has launched their first ever premium mid-tier Android smartphone in India AKA the Flipkart Billion Capture+. The smartphone is engineered, designed, assembled, and made for India by Indians funded by an Indian startup, so, if you are looking for a true made in India smartphone, then this might be the one for you.

This smartphone has been designed and manufactured by the Indian smartphone brand Smartron, which is known for their SRT (Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar) smartphone. The device also offers unlimited cloud storage, which can be used to store all your data and other peripherals for free.

Not only it has the nerves from the Indians, the device does pack pretty decent specifications for the price tag that the device has been offered. In fact, this smartphone has solved many engineering problems, which are found on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. Just like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, it has a full metal unibody design with premium looking design language. Even the device has the top and bottom antenna bands like the Note 4 as well.

Let’s look at the technical specifications of the Flipkart Billion Capture+. The Flipkart Billion Capture+ offers a standard 5.5-inch FHD 1080p IPS LCD screen, protected by 2.5D curved tempered glass on the top (Dragon Ashi). The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Octa-core SoC, paired with either 3 GB or 4 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 32 GB or 64 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot (hybrid slot), so, you have to compromise with a SIM card slot to use the micro SD card.

In terms of connectivity, the device offers a dual SIM card slot with 4G LTE and VoLte capability on both the slots. Standard features like dual-band WiFi, WiFi Hotspot, and Bluetooth 4.2 are also present on the device. Standard features like 3.5 mm headphone jack, analogue FM radio are also present.

Coming to the camera capability, the device offers a dual rear-facing camera with 13 MP RGB sensor and a 13 MP monochrome sensor with 4K video recording capability up to 30 frames per second and 1080p video up to 60 frames per second. The camera also offers bokeh effect with the varied depth of field and high-quality monochrome photos as well. For the selfie enthusiasts, the device offers an 8 MP front-facing selfie camera with 1080p video recording capability.

In terms of operating system, the device offers stock Android Nougat OS with promised Android Oreo update in January or February 2018. Finally, the only thing that is a tad bit short is the battery, the device offers a 3500 mAh Li-ion sealed battery with fast charging capability via USB type C port, which also enacts as the USB OTG.

Finally, if the company has gone with the 18:9 display instead of the standard 16:9 aspect ratio display, then this would be the greatest premium mid-tier smartphone for the next few months. So, what do you think about the Flipkart Billion Capture+? Share your views in the comments below.
