As we mentioned in our yesterday’s article, Samsung has finally launched its much-anticipated tablet (mid-tier) Samsung Galaxy Tab A (8.0) in Vietnam for the price tag of 6,490,000 VND or INR 18,000. The device is already up for sale in Vietnam via Samsung website and retail outlets.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A (8.0) 2017 features an 8-inch WXGA (1280×900) resolution IPS LCD grade screen, powered by entry level Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 Quad-core SoC, paired with 2 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 16 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated SD card slot (up to 256 GB).

Coming to the internet and connectivity features, the device does feature a single nano SIM card slot with 4G LTE capability, but there is no mention of voice calling capability. Considering their previous iterations, the device might support the voice calls. The device also supports dual band WiFi (2.4GHz and 5 GHz) with WiFi hotspot feature as well.

On to the camera, the device offers best in class 8 MP rear-facing camera with features like F/1.9 aperture and PDAF paired with a single tone LED flash. A 5 MP front-facing camera with F/2.2 aperture and fixed focus sensor does offer 720p video recording capability. In terms of connectivity, the device offers a plethora of features for a tablet territory. The tab features GPS, GLONASS, and Beidou. In terms of physical overview, the device measures 212.1×124.1×8.9mm and weights 364 gram (normal for an 8-inch tablet). The Galaxy Tab 8.0 (2017) packs a massive 5000 mAh Li-ion battery with rapid charging capability(via USB type C port). Android Nougat 7.1 with custom Samsung’s touch wiz UI.

There is no mention of availability or pricing in India, but, if it makes to India, the device will sell like hot cakes, due to the fact that there are not much of players in this territory.

Compared to the previous generation Tab A (8.0), this is a huge upgrade. The last gen tablet featured 5 MP and 2 MP camera, no SIM card option, all plastic build quality, this iteration feels like a right step in all direction.
