Garmin, a new tech company has launched a new smartwatch in India. The Garmin Vivoactive 3 Fitness smartwatch is priced at ₹24,990 and will be available via Reliance Digital, Flipkart, and Amazon India. The smartwatch will be made available from 22nd November.

Just like the most of the smartwatches, this band can be paired with either Android or iOS-powered smartphones via Bluetooth, so, on both the platforms, the watch offers similar features. However, the one thing that amazed us is the price tag. How can a smartwatch band price their device at this price tag? In fact, the Apple Watch series 3 with GPS retails for the same price tag (entry level model).

The smartwatch has a lot of things to offer, at this price tag, this becomes obsolete. Garmin Vivoactive 3 has an NFC built on to the watch, so, you can make wireless transactions using the same as well. Apart from that, the smartwatch also offers GPS and 15 pre-loaded fitness-related applications to increase the overall user experience.

On to the technical note, the smartwatch offers a circular OLED touch screen with 1.2-inch screen real-estate. The resolution offered is 240×240, making it par with the competition. Overall, the watch is made using the metal frame with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the top, which should protect the smartphone from the normal day to day usage. According to the company, the smartwatch can last up to 11 hours with active GPS usage and without the GPS, the watch can last for a complete seven days of usability.

Here is the official product statement from Ali Rizvi, National Sales Manager Garmin India:

“The launch of Vivoactive 3 is a short in the arm for (a variety) of fitness activity users. This is a single device accessible to do away with all your worries and to help you indulge in fitness like never before. We are looking at a whole community of Vivoactive 3 users since it perfectly fits the requirement of a cardio-fitness trainer to people doing strength training inside the gym.”
