Gionee, the one of the biggest smartphone maker in China is all set not one or two but eight smartphones all together in China in an event held in Shenzen on 26th November. The new smartphone lineup should include an entry-level model to the premium flagship models with a different set of hardware.

For every price point, the company should launch a device or two. So, we can expect a smartphone for the ₹15,000 rupees to ₹50,000. Here are some of the interesting things about these smartphones, which becomes clear from the first point of inspection.

To start with the obvious feature AKA the display, all 8 smartphones are expected to feature premium narrow bezels display with new 18:9 cinematic aspect ratio for the premium user experience. The display quality might differ from phone to phone. The premium smartphones are speculated to stick with the OLE panel, whereas the mid-tier smartphones are expected to feature IPS LCD panel (which are much cheaper compared to the OLE panel).

According to a microblogging site Android Headlines, Gionee F6,  Gionee M2018, Gionee S11 and S11 Plus, and the Gionee M7 Plus will be some of the models which one can expect from the event. Though we don’t have the specs list for all these models, the Gionee S11 is expected to feature 6.0-inch FHD+ IPS LCD screen, powered by MediaTek MT6763 Octa-core SoC, paired with 4 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 64 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot.

In terms of operating system, all these models will be powered by Android nougat and will receive Android Oreo update in the near future with Amigo UI 6.0 on the top. All these models will eventually come to India on a phased basis, beginning from January 2018.

So, what do you think about this new lineup? Should every other company should use this the standard 18:9 aspect ratio screen? Share your views in the comments below.
