Google has always used Google I/O to announce some new features for its applications. Now in Google I/O 2018, Google announced a rather impressive and smooth new feature for Google Lens. The new update will allow users to copy text from the real world. The feature is dubbed as smart text selection by tech pundits. The feature will allow users to copy text from a physical document. Then the user can use the copied text as they would any other bit of copied text. In a blog post by Google, the tech giant noted that user could use this function to copy recipes, Wi-Fi passwords, and gift card codes to their phones.

The new features will allow users to point their phone’s camera at any text from the real world and then use it on their phone. For example, users can point their phone’s camera to a written down Wi-Fi password and grab that text. After that, the user can easily paste them into a text field on their smartphone. Some more features of Google Lens was also announced at Google I/O 2018. A new feature will also provide users the ability to point their phone at the real-world text to get answers.

Another new feature of the Lens app shown off at the I/O 2018 is dubbed Style Match. This feature will allow users to search for objects and clothing in a similar style. Google is also introducing a new style match feature that will allow users to scan something by pointing the camera towards it and then it will help them to buy it from internet retailers. Google also announced at the I/O that Google Lens features will be coming to camera apps for some devices.
