Google is launching its flagship smartphones, the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL on 2nd October. According to the recently leaked information, the smartphones will feature either 64 GB or 128 GB onboard storage without external SD card support.

On to the pricing, the HTC engineered Google Pixel 2 will retail at $649 for the 64 GB variant and $749 for the 128 GB variant. The Google Pixel 2 XL is priced at $849 and $949 for the 64 GB and 128 GB storage variants respectively. Compared to the first generation, there is a 10% price hike on Pixel to Pixel 2 and Pixel XL to Pixel XL 2.

Google Pixel 2 will feature 4.97-inch OLED 1080p display protected by 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood, the device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Octa-core SoC, paired with 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB onboard flash storage.

Google Pixel 2 XL is touted to feature 5.99-inch QHD OLED panel with 2.5D curved tempered Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The Pixel 2 XL will be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Octa-core SoC, along with 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB onboard flash storage.

Both models are expected to ditch the old-school 3.5 mm headphone jack, in favor of USB Type C to offer lossless audio experience. On the front, the smartphones will feature dual stereo speakers. The devices are speculated to feature IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. These will be the first smartphone to be powered Android Oreo 8.0.1 with the stock Android user interface (As intended by the Google). These phones are expected to feature a premium camera with features like 4K video recording capability, electronic image stabilisation, and portrait mode. However, either of the phones features dual-camera solution. As of now, there is no information about the pricing and availability of these smartphones in India.
