Tech specifications for the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2:

The two major difference between the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 is the screen and the battery. The Pixel 2 is equipped with a standard 5.0-inch 1080p OLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the top, and the Pixel XL 2 offers a slightly bigger 6.0-inch QHD+ OLED display with 18:9 aspect ratio with protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 5. As the bigger Pixel XL 2 features a bigger 6-inch display, the device gets bigger 3520 mAh Li-ion battery, whereas the smaller Pixel 2 is equipped with a slightly smaller 2500 mAh Li-ion battery.

Other than these changes, both devices are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Octa-core SoC, paired with 4 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB onboard flash storage without any micro SD card slot. Google also removes the 3.5 mm headphone jack in favour of USB type C port.

Both smartphones are equipped with top of the line 12 MP shooter with F/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilisation. These cameras offer 4k video recording capability, portrait mode via software and slow motion video recording. For the selfie folks, the device features an 8 MP selfie shooter with selfie bokeh feature as well.

The most interesting part about the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 is the software experience. Both models offer Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box with stock Android user experience which is the best in the world of Android ecosystem. The device is also entitled to receive Android OS updates for next 24 months and Android security updates for next 36 months from the date of the actual launch.

These devices have been priced to compete against the Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, but it is less likely to happen, as Apple offers top of the line specifications which are nowhere equal to any Android smartphone what so ever.
