Google Voice

Google Voice is a telephony service that provides call forwarding and voicemail services. The service also provides voice and text messaging features for Google Account customers in the U.S. and Canada. The service was launched by Google on March 11, 2009. But the service was ignored by the search giant Google for years. However, finally, it seems like Google is trying to improve the service. Google has revamped its app and website in 2017. The company also promised its users to keep the updates coming, and it is keeping up its promise so far.

New Updates for Google Voice:

In the latest update to the Google Voice app, users can now finally manage their voicemail greeting from the app. Users now no longer need to visit the web client to record and manage voicemail greetings. Now with the release of the new version of the app, the users can use this feature easily. In version 5.10 on Android and 2.19 for iOS users can use this feature by heading to settings. Then after scrolling down to the appropriate section will reveal a new Voicemail greeting option. After tapping on the option, it will open an interface where users can record a greeting and manage several options.

Users can also select Record a greeting option at the top. This option will present a simple microphone interface where users can Tap to record their message. The app will allow users to record messages up to 45 seconds long, with the option to Redo and Save once complete. After clicking on Save option user will be asked to name the clip.

This feature was previously available only to the web client. Thus it was limiting mobile users to record a creative voicemail on the go with their phones. The latest versions of Google Voice should be fully rolled out on both the Play Store and App Store.
