Project Android one was initially launched by Google in Indian back in 2013. The project was intended to offer affordable smartphones running on the stock Android operating system, that directly receives OS updates from Google in parallel with Nexus and Pixel.

Android One project India didn’t see the success that the company was expecting, so, they scrapped the project in India. However, the project is still live in some countries like Indonesia and Africa. According to latest rumours, Google is in talks with Xiaomi to get their first Android One device AKA Xiaomi Mi A1.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 will be a re-branded version of the Xiaomi Mi 5X that is launched in China. Currently, the Mi 5X retails for INR 15,000 or $200, so the Android One version might cost slightly more than $200.

The Mi 5X is coming to India next month, as it packs uncompromised specifications and premium built quality, the device will surely be a huge hit in whatever the market it gets launched.

The device offers 5.5-inch 1080p IPS LCD FHD screen, protected by 2.5D tempered glass. Under the hood, the energy-efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 paired with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB onboard storage can be unstoppable when it comes to day-to-day usage. This is the cheapest smartphone in the world that offers dual rear camera setup with 2X optical lossless zoom and up to 12X digital zoom. The camera also takes portrait images by creating the bokeh effect.
