Neighbourly

In an effort to strengthen its position in India, Google launched Neighbourly app in the country. The app main focus is to help people find local answers in their neighborhood. The app was launched by Google India on Thursday. Currently, the app is available in the beta version of the Play Store. According to a tweet by Google India, “The beta version is available today in Mumbai. If you’re in a different city, join the wait list”.

Google has been focusing on India a lot lately. Firstly it launched Google Aero, a food delivery, and home service app. The app was followed by Google Tez, a mobile payment app and now this new app. It is a Question & Answer app through which users can ask and answer questions about places and events in their community.

Features of the Neighbourly app:

The app allows the user to use either text or voice input to ask questions. The app also provides users the support for English and eight other Indian languages. Those users who will answer more questions in the app will become more recognized. The app also allows users to vote for particular answers. Users can view questions by either swiping left or right and the answer will be shown to other users too. Other users can also see the answered questions for their reference. The app also allows users to follow other user’s question too. It means if any user have the same question as someone else and want to see any incoming answers. Then the user can easily follow the question to get updates and get the answer.

The search giant has also made it clear to users that the app is strictly for asking and answering questions. It has also said that the app is not for those constant Good morning messages in group chats.
