India’s ISRO (Indian space research organisation) is known for their budget friendly rocket launches. You may ask how, our MOM (mission on mars) rockets budget was pretty much less than the of the budget of the movie gravity. Today, India reached next milestone in terms of space science by launching GSLV MK III into the space.

India requested with other international space organisation to give technology related to the cryogenic engine, however, the other parties refused politely. Indian scientists worked hard to make their own cryogen engine named cryogenic engine — CE-20.

This was the heaviest  GSLV rocket ever launched by ISRO. The rocket weighing more than 5000 KGs of pay load. Here is a official statement from the IRSO chairman A S Kiran Kumar.

“It is a historic day. The entire team has worked since 2002. The vehicle carried the next generation satellite. We are looking forward to getting the satellite operational.”

The vehicle travelled around 16 minutes, later the satellites are placed in geosynchronous transfer orbit. This success doesn’t stop here, this means Indian can further aim on missions like Chandrayana II and MOM II with actual scientists. The success of this mission tells the world about where we (Indians) are and what we are capable of doing without any help.
