Citing the security threat concerns, the government of India has banned TikTok along with 58 different other Chinese apps in the last week.

In India, TikTok has gained over 20 crore user base, and then suddenly banning the app has left a great void in the entertainment sector of mobile. While many users have found an alternative to this and migrating to local apps such as Mitron, Chingari, and Roposo.

As per the reports, the bad actors who are in the situation to bid to cash are sending random text messages to the cell phones of victims that there is a new app in the market which is the TikTok Pro app. The app has better video recording facilities and safety features. They are sending the URL of the app to a large number of people and asking them to download it. Several people on Twitter have raised a complaint against this to the cyber police.

Once the user moves ahead by clicking on the link, he/she is directed to a shady website and an APK file then gets installed on the device with the same logo as that of TikTok. But the users fail to see the functionality of the app as it cannot create videos.

If the duplicate TikTok app is left on the device, there are high chances that hackers might be able to access and reach out to all your details and important information from the storage of the user.

People are advised not to download such apps or fall for these messages and never try to install applications from third-party stores. If you have an android phone then only use Google Play store for downloading any of your apps.
