Huawei Honor launches a new entry level smartphone Honor 6 Play in China. The device is priced at CNY 599 (INR 6000) and offers basic features like HD screen, WiFi, 4G and entry level cameras.

The device is entirely made out of polycarbonate plastic available in pearl white and black color shades. The device is aimed at those set of audience, who don’t play lots of games or do a lot of CPU or GPU intensive tasks. The Honor 6 Play weights 150 grams and measures 143.8x72x8.85mm. Let’s look at the technical specifications for the further understanding.

The Honor 6 Play is powered by MediaTek MT6737 T Quad-core SoC with 1.4 GHz CPU speed and 2 GB LPDDR3 RAM. The 16 GB on board flash storage (10 GB user accessible) can be expandable via micro SD card up to 128 GB. The device sports a 5-inch 720p IPS LCD grade screen with unknown 2.5D curved tempered glass protection.

The 5 MP front-facing camera on Honor 6 Play comes with its own single tone LED flash and 720p video recording capability. The main 8 MP camera offers 1080p video recording capability with Phase detection auto focus technology. At this price point do not expect the device to offer more than this (though some smartphones like Redmi 4A and Redmi 3S Prime offer 13 MP camera).

In terms of connectivity, the device offers dual SIM card slots with 4G LTE capability (no mention of VoLte support). Additionally, the device also offers WiFi, Bluetooth, and analog FM radio as well. The device is powered by Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 with custom EMUI 4.1 on the top, and might not get upgraded to Android Nougat or Oreo.

Currently, there is no information regarding the availability of the device outside China. The device will be available in China from 7/9/2017. Are you interested in the Honor 6 Play? Let us know in the comments below.
