Honor 7X

A new update has started rolling out for the Huawei brand Honor’s mid-range smartphone, Honor 7X. Arriving with build number B192, the software upgrade adds a couple of nice new features to this popular mid-range phone like highly anticipated FACE UNLOCK feature.

Earlier this month, the company promised to enhance the Honor 7X with the biometric authentication feature before the end of Quarter1 2018, so it’s nice to see them meeting deadlines. Perhaps the most important addition of this patch is Face Unlock feature.Apart from this feature, the Honor 7X adds a new smart feature for lock screen notifications that gives users the ability to hide the content shown in notifications. This can be managed by going into Settings > Security and Privacy > Face Unlock > Smart lock screen notifications. The software update also includes other modifications such as the addition of AR Lens to the selfie camera, modifications for the Weather Application and arrival of Google’s January Android security patch. It is to be noted that this update is rolling out for Chinese units only.

For those users, who like to take perfect selfies will be happy to know that the update includes a new AR lens mode for the front camera – a perfect gift for the shutterbugs! As per reports describing new update, the upgraded model will allow users to add different “Snapchat”-like effects and filters to their photos. Last but not least, the update also introduces the Android security patch for January 2018.

So get ready for the exciting stuff coming up with the new update!

Talking about the specifications part: Launched in India in December 2017, the Honor 7X sports a 5.93-inch full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) IPS display with an 18:9 aspect ratio-a masterpiece! The phone is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC, coupled with 4GB of RAM and features 32GB/ 64GB of inbuilt storage. There is a 3340mAh battery loaded under the hood.A thumbs up recommended for this phone to all the users looking forward to buying a new budget phone!

Though there’s no word on when other markets apart from China will receive it, with a bit of luck, we should see it rolling in the US and other countries within the next couple of weeks! Fingers crossed till then.
