Huawei’s sub-brand, Honor has launched a one of its kind, Honor 9i in India. The smartphone features a 4-camera setup and some of the premium flagship smartphone offerings at an affordable price tag.

The device offers a full-metal unibody solution with the dual-camera setup on the back as well as the dual-camera smartphone at the back. One has to note that, this device was originally launched in China named Honor Maimang 6. The best part about this phone is it the price tag. The device is priced at INR 17,999 and will be available exclusively on Flipkart from October 14th.

In terms of display, the device follows the market leaders with an 18:9 cinematic aspect ratio screen. The screen measures at 5.9-inch FHD+ IPS LCD screen with 1080x2160p resolution spread across the front. The device is covered by a 2.5D Curved tempered glass on the top. Under the hood, the device packs a Kirin 659 Octa-core SoC, paired with 4 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 64 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot, which can accept micro SD card (up to 128 GB).

One more important aspect of the device is the camera. On the front, the device packs a 13 MP + 2 MP front-facing selfie camera with 1080p video recording capability. On the rear-end, the device offers a 16 MP + 2 MP rear-facing camera with live bokeh mode as well as the 4k video recording capability. As a matter of fact, this is the first device which is officially available in India with a 4-camera solution.

In terms of battery, the device packs a 3340 mAh Li-ion battery with fast charging capability via USB type C port. However, the device doesn’t support wireless charging capability (which is mostly reserved for the premium flagship smartphone). In terms of operating system, the device offers Android Nougat 7.0 with custom EMUI 5.0 on the top with a promised update to Android Oreo in the near future. the device also offers additional software features like gesture controls like drawing an S to take a screenshot, tapping with two fingers to screen record.

Finally, to conclude, Huawei Honor 9i is a great smartphone with all set of features that one can expect from a premium mid-range. At this price point, it has done everything right. So, if you are not bothered about the stock user Android user experience, then this is a great smartphone from a well established OEM.
