Huawei Honor has launched a new smartphone in China. The device is priced at 999 Chinese Yuan or INR 9893 for the 3 GB RAM variant and 1190 yuan or INR 11970 for the 4GB model. The Honor V9 is available exclusively in China via from 12th September.

Just like most of the entry to a mid-tier smartphone, the device offers full metal unibody design with Black, Blue, Gold, Rose Gold and Red colour(my favourite) option.

The Honor V9 Play offers 5.2-inch LTPS IPS LCD 1080p panel covered with 2.5D curved tempered glass. Under the hood, the device is incarnated with MTK MT6750 Octa-core SoC, paired with either 3 GB or 4 GB RAM with 32 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated SD card slot (up to 128 GB). The finger print sensor is located on the rear-side of the device, which can unlock the device in less than 0.4 seconds.

The camera on the device comes with a 13 MP rear-facing camera with 1080p video recording with PDAF and F/2.0 aperture. The front-facing 8 MP camera does offer 720p video recording capability with narrower F/2.2 aperture. The device runs on the latest version of Android operating system Android Nougat 7.1.2 with a promised update to Android Oreo in the near future.

The hybrid solution on this device can accept either two SIM cards or a SIM + micro SD card. The 3000 mAh battery does support fast charging capability via micro USB port. On the connectivity front, the device offers 4G LTE and VoLte features on both the slots.

There is no news regarding the launch and availability of the device in India or anywhere outside China. The device will be available for sale from 12th September in China. Comments your views on the Honor V9 Play.
