Huawei has finally unveiled the much-anticipated successor of the Huawei Honor 6X, AKA, the Huawei Honor 7X in India with a refreshed design, newer cameras, bigger and better display and what not. As a matter of fact, the device feels very much right from almost every department and looks like a smartphone, which is tailor-made for 2017.

If you remember, Huawei Honor 9i, the Quad-camera smartphone, the Huawei Honor 7X does resemble the same, except for the single front-facing selfie camera and an individual rear-camera bumps. All in all, the design looks fresh and the full metal unibody does give a premium feel with structural integrity as well.

Whats new compared to the other mid-tier Android smartphones: The full metal unibody does feel like new and trendy with miniature antenna bands. The 18:9 aspect ratio screen with FHD+ resolution is also something, which we won’t see every day. The phone does offer standard 3.5 mm headphone jack, which lessens the burden of carrying an additional dongle. The dual-real camera setup is also an added advantage.

Whats not new: We have many things to complain here. We expected that display to be of an OLED panel, instead of the IPS LCD panel, which goes light on the battery. Considering the larger screen, the device might not be able to cope up with the battery life, like the Huawei Honor 6X. The most bothering thing about this device is the usage of the micro USB port instead of the USB type C port for the charging and data syncing.

Tech specifications of the Huawei Honor 7X: The smartphone features a 5.93-inch IPS LCD display with FHD+ screen resolution. Under the hood, the device is powered by the same Kirin 659 Octa-core SoC, paired with 4 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 32 GB or 64 GB or 128 GB onboard storage with a hybrid SIM slot (which accepts either 2 nano-SIM cards or a SIM and an SD card). With respect to connectivity, the device does offer 4G LTE and VoLte on both the slots with support for WiFi, WiFi Hotspot, and Bluetooth 4.2 out of the box.

General features like 3.5 mm headphone jack, analog FM radio, 3.5 mm headphone jack are also present on the smartphone.

Moving towards the camera capability, the device offers a 16 MP main shooter, paired with a 2 MP depth sensing shooter with features like portrait mode and 1080p video recording capability up to 30 frames per second. For the selfie camera, the device uses an 8 MP selfie shooter with the similar 1080p video recording capability.

In terms of software, the device runs on Android Nougat with EMUI 5.1 UI on the top. The smartphone packs a 3340 mAh Li-ion non-user replaceable battery with 10W fast charging capability via micro USB port, which also doubles as the USB OTG compliant.

In terms of pricing and availability, there are no official statements about the same, but, the company should unveil the following details in few more days. For the most part, the device is likely to be available on Amazon India, with the price tag not greater than the ₹16,000.
