Huawei’s subsidiary smartphone brand Honor is all set to launch the Huawei Honor 9 in India on 9th October 2017. Honor India’s official twitter handle replied to a fan’s tweet stating that “We are glad to inform you that launch event for Honor 9 will be held on 05 Oct 2017. Kindly stay tuned for more updates. Thanks!”.
If everything goes as per the standard protocol, the company should launch the Huawei Honor 9, which was launched in China a few months back. Here is the complete set of specifications for the Huawei Honor 9. In terms of performance and features, the device resembles the OnePlus 5, so, this device might create a dent for the OnePlus 5.
The Huawei Honor 9 will offer a standard 5.15-inch 1080p LTPS panel with 2.5D curved glass on the top. Under the hood, the device will is equipped with a flagship class Kirin 960 Octa-core processor, paired with either 4 GB or 6 GB RAM with 64 GB or 128 GB onboard flash storage with a micro SD card slot (up to 128 GB). In terms of pricing, the entry-level variant with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage is expected to be priced at INR 22,000 and the mid-tier model with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB RAM is expected to be priced at INR 25,000 and finally, the high-end model with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB onboard flash storage might be priced around INR 28,000 (these prices are derived from the China’s retail pricing of the smartphone).
Moving on to the camera compartment, the device offers a dual-camera solution, the 12 MP sensor (RGB) and a 20 MP sensor (monochrome) paired with dual-tone dual LED flash and laser autofocus setup is one of the best in class. The device offers Portrait mode 4K video recording capability. On the front, the device offers an 8 MP selfie shooter with 1080p video recording capability. For the first time, the fingerprint scanner is located on the front of the device, which also doubles as the home button.
Connectivity features like NFC, dual SIM card slots with 4G LTE and VoLte capability with support for dual-band WiFi and WiFi hotspot are also present. According to speculations, the device will be made available exclusively on Flipkart from 5th October itself. Here is a hint from the Flipkart executive regarding the same.
“Buoyed by the phenomenal success of Honor 6X and Honor 8 Pro which debuted on Flipkart during The Big Billion Days, Honor, Huawei’s sub-brand has now decided to make the upcoming new launch exclusive to Flipkart. The phone is believed to have a dual front and dual rear cameras although more details on specifications and the price will be revealed on 5th October at the launch event organized by Huawei,”
