Intex Aqua 5.5 VR+ is an entry level smartphone from Intex priced at INR 5,799. The device will be available exclusively on Flipkart. As the name suggests, the mobile comes with VR headset compatibility (with Gyroscopic sensor)this is the cheapest smartphone to do so. The device will be available in the champagne color shade. Though the device officially supports VR, it’s easy to say that the VR experience will not be top notch, due to the low-resolution 720p screen.
In terms of build quality, the device features all-in-all plastic built quality with user replaceable textured back panel. The mobile offers decent build quality for the price tag of INR 6,000 or lesser. The Intex Aqua 5.5 VR+ comes with a 720p IPS LCD capacitive touch display, powered by 1.25 GHz quad-core SoC, paired with 2 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 16 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated SD card slot (up to 128 GB).
The device offers 8 MP rear-facing camera with 1080p video recording capability with dual LED flash. The device also packs in a 5 MP front-facing camera(with front-facing single tone flash) with 720p video recording capability. In terms of connectivity and calling, the Intex Aqua 5.5 VR+ offers dual SIM card slot with 4G LTE capability. The device also supports natively calling on Jio network (VoLte enabled) out of the box.
On to the battery, the device packs 2800 mAh Li-ion (user accessible) battery with standard charging capability. The device does offer USB OTG, Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi and WiFi Hotspot as well. The device is backed by the latest Android Nougat operating system (7.0) with custom UI on the top. Intex has partnered with Jio to offer 25 GB free 4G data at no extra cost.
As a bundle of joy, the device includes following applications like QR code scanner, Xender for file sharing, and Gaana and Vistavo for the music lovers. The device does pack decent set of specifications for the price tag against like odds of iVoomi M3.
