Jio has been making significant efforts to contribute to the number of Indian apps. JioMeet was recently launched by the telecom operator against Zoom, Google Meet, and many more. Telecom operators have now come up with another app which is known as JioChat for all the users as a messaging platform to promote Indian apps and different products.

JioChat is not a new app of Jio but has received around more than 50 million downloads in a quick period on Google Play Store. While the JioChat app can be considered as an alternative to WhatsApp, this is the only platform from where the idea has been generated.

The app allows you to transfer messages and receive it, have HD quality of video calls and one can also send “Made in India” emoticons. It supports a group of around 500 people and is available in different languages such as Marathi, Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil, Odia, or Bengali. Additionally, one can easily download it with the help of the Google Play Store or the App Store.

How does the app work? A user needs to first sign up with your contact details, followed by the OTP received on the registered number, your name, and gender after which you will be successfully registered on the app. The app has the following five sections: Camera for clucking the stories, Chats, Stories, and Channels, or different Calling sections.

At the bottom of the section, you have an icon of a plus for starting a new conversation or video call. The top section of the app has a three-dotted menu to get access to different options such as inviting friends, broadcast messages, voice assistant, etc..

The difference between both apps is the presence of a different section of Channels to follow various people on the list.

With the telecom operator getting popular the app can gain more popularity in the coming days as it is easy to use. The app supports Vocal for Local vision and can help Jio hike up its business.
