Reliance Jio’s “INDIA KAA SMARTPHONE” will be available from today (for the press and employees of the Jio). However, few retailers in Delhi are started to accept bookings for the same.
According to the official retailer in Delhi, the pre-booking for the device starts from today. Those who book the device today will receive the handset in the first week of September (as the no of pre-orders increasing, the time frame may get bit extended)
Requirements to Pre-book JioPhone:
One has to carry Aadhar card to pre-book JioPhone. However, there is no upfront fee or any booking charges. After successful booking user will receive details about date and availability. At the time of delivery, a user has to pay an advance of INR 1500, which is refundable after 3 years on the return of the device (probably in working condition).
Are data and calling is free?
Yes, however, a user has to recharge at least with INR 152 (500 MB data + UL voice + 100 SMS per day) or INR 349 (1 GB + UL calls + 100 SMS per day). One can also choose smaller vouchers like INR 24 that just lasts for a day.
What about the online pre-booking?
We are yet to receive updates on that matter from Jio PR. It’s also interesting to know that, how they would manage to mass produce these many (more than 10,00,000) units of Jiophone.
