Those who pre-ordered the JioPhone in the early September are getting their device delivered from the past few days. However, the problem is there is no way to make new orders. However, within few days the company is expected to resume the pre-ordering processes via online and offline retail stores.

Here is the official press statement released from Jio spokesperson:

“JioPhone, ‘India ka smartphone,’ is committed to fulfilling the country’s digital vision. Jio welcomes the initial six million Indians who are moving to digital life with the JioPhone and will soon announce the next JioPhone booking date”

However, even there are rumours about the fact that, the company might ditch the entire JioPhone lineup as their competitors are getting stronger day by day by launching smartphones for just INR 1,500 rupees or less than that.

On the other hand, the company might also stick up with the existing Jiophone hardware, instead of Kai OS, the upcoming models might feature Android operating system, which enables the company to utilise the app store (for 3 rd party apps).

If the JioPhone concent is new for you, then here are the complete tech specifications of the same.

The 1500 rupees JioPhone is a feature phone without a touchscreen, featuring a 2.4-inch colour display, powered by entry-level Quad-core SoC, paired with 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot (up to 128 GB).

In terms of additional features, the device offers support for a single SIM with 4G LTE capability (as of now all JioPhones are network locked). These phones also feature additional value-added features like Jio Music, Jio Movies, and My Jio apps. However, as of now, there is no support for the third party apps and the company is working on the same to bring the most used apps like FaceBook, WhatsApp, and YouTube.
