Lenovo India has launched a new mid-range budget smartphone, the Lenovo K8. The device will be available exclusively in offline retail stores across India from 27 September 2017 for INR 10,499.

In terms of aesthetics and design, the Lenovo K8 follows the Lenovo K8 Plus and Lenovo K8 Note, other than the dual-rear facing camera, all three devices look exactly same with a slight variation in the actual size.

To cut the production cost, the device now houses a 720p IPS LCD HD display (5.2-inch) compared to the 1080p panel found on the K8 Note and K8 Plus, protected by a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass. The K8 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P20 Octa-core SoC (sorta of a flagship processor) with 3 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 32 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated Micro SD card up to 256 GB.

The Lenovo K8 offers a 13 MP rear-facing camera with PDAF and 1080p video recording capability, on the front-side, the device is equipped with an 8 MP selfie shooter with front-facing LED flash to enhance the low light selfies.

In terms of operating system, the device offers stock Android Nougat 7.0 with a promised update to Android Oreo in the near future. The main attractions of the Lenovo K8 are its dedicated music button, which is programmable to any of the interesting task (like launching a camera, opening your favourite social media app etc). Unlike most of the smartphones, the Lenovo K8 offers a dedicated SD card slot plus 2 dedicated nano-SIM card slots with 4G LTE and VoLte capability. The device also offers dual-band WiFi support, Bluetooth 4.2 and WiFi Hotspot as well.

The Lenovo K8 is equipped with a massive 4000 mAh battery with fast charging capability, so, a combination of low-resolution display and a high capacity battery should last at least for two complete working days.
