The stage is set for launch the most premium flagship smartphone from LG AKA, the LG V30+, which is the camera-centric smartphone from LG, which solves the majority of the issues found on the LG G6. The launch event is bound to start at 11:30 AM (IST) in New Delhi.

As we already said, this will be a cheaper alternative to the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, which offers a lot of premium features which are not common amongst the smartphones. We would like the mention the 10 points that give LG V30+ an edge over other smartphones and 5 points where we seek improvement.

Advantages of the LG V30+:

  • This is the first premium LG flagship smartphone to use OLED panel, to be precise, the phone uses a POLED designed and developed by LG. Not only that, this display is on par with the other premium flagship smartphones with 2K QHD+ resolution.
  • Almost bezel-less design with 18:9 aspect ratio screen. This specific display also supports HDR capability via Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Youtube. The HDR is compatible with HDR 10 and Dolby Vision compliant.
  • Glass sandwich design is a must-have for a premium flagship smartphone. It does increase the overall aesthetics and offers different colour share. The design does have its own advantages as well.
  • The Glass sandwich design also enables the device to offer fast wireless charging.
  • Dual camera setup with 16 MP normal shooter with an F/1.6 aperture for the improved low light photography and a wide-angle 13 MP shooter with 120-degree viewing angle. This camera setup does offer additional features like manual mode, cinematic mode and 4K video recording capability with OIS and EIS.
  • Powered by the top of the tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Octa-core SoC, paired with 4 GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot.
  • IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.
  • Fast charging via USB type C port with OTG support.
  • Dedicated 32-bit audio DAC via 3.5 mm headphone jack.
  • Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC support out of the box.

Disadvantages of LG V30+:

  • The 5 MP front-facing selfie camera with F/2.2 aperture is a shame considering the power of the main camera setup.
  • The LG UXI is outdated and does not goes well with this premium smartphone design.
  • Slightly smaller 3000 mAh battery for the massive 6.0-inch display.
  • The price is most likely to reduce by two folds after few months of launch (same case with the LG V20, LG G6, and LG G5).
  • Last flagship smartphone to get Android Oreo update with heavy skin.

Update:

Along with the phone, the first set of buyers will also get a complimentary wireless charging pad, one-time free screen replacement and an in-app content worth of ₹6,440.
