LG V30 officially unveiled in IFA Berlin. The device is the first smartphone from the OEM to offer OLED screen, wireless charging and not to forget, the rear camera with massive F/1.6 aperture.

The design is pretty similar to that of the LG G6. The glass body construction with metal chassis looks great. The device will be available in Aurora Black, Cloud Silver, Moroccan Blue, and Lavender Violet shades. This is one of the first flagship smartphones to offer both IP68 and MIL-STD 810G military standard compliance.

LG V30 has been designed in such a way that, it can give tough competition to the upcoming and already existing smartphones. The 6 inch OLED display now does all the work (replaces the secondary screen with always on-screen). The device runs on powerful mobile processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Octa-core SoC, paired with 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM and comes in two storage variants (64 GB and 128 GB) with an SD card slot (up to 2 TB).

On to the cameras. LG is using the similar normal sensor + wide-angle lens combination just like their predecessor. This time, instead of the technology, the sensors have been upgraded (16MP Standard Angle (F1.6 / 71°) / 13MP Wide Angle (F1.9/ 120°)). As a matter of fact, this is the first smartphone in the world to use an image sensor with F/1.6 along with OIS and PDAF. The front facing 5 MP wide-angle lens offers up to 90 degrees of viewing angle.

The device features a 3300 mAh battery paired with Qualcomm Quick charging technology and Wireless Qi charging capability. The device comes with either single or dual SIM card slot depending on the market. Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi/ac, NFC and USB type C with data transfer speeds up to USB 3.1 makes it a true flagship class smartphone. For the audiophiles out there, the device offers  32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC for the high-fidelity audio output. As a complimentary offer, a pair of B&O Play headphones will be included in the retail package.

In terms of operating system, the device runs on a customized version of Android Nougat 7.1.2 and bound to receive Android Nougat 8.0 within few weeks. Either the pricing or availability hasn’t been disclosed. Watch out this space for more unprecedented smartphone and tech news.
