Unique Identification Authority of India’s CEO announced that the iOS version of the mAdhaar app is to be launched soon. UIDIA had introduced it’s first mAdhaar Android app back in July 2017.

This will make adhaar to go digital and will mitigate the burden of carrying it around. The app will allow to store all Adhaar’s demographic information such as name, gender, date of birth, address on the smartphones. No specific time frame as to when it would be launched was disclosed.

“All agencies should accept eAadhaar/mAadhaar. They are equally valid. The government has allowed the mAadhaar to be used as an identity proof for rail journeys in India.” said UIDIA.

A lot of news regarding the reliability concerns of how safe is the data in Adhaar has been in action. To bring all these speculations to rest, the CEO confirmed that there has been no leaking of user information and data is completely safe.

UIDIA CEO Ajay Bhushan Pandey posted a video of ‘AskAadhaar’ session stating that they have been working on the iOS version of the app and will launch it soon. “Aadhaar is a card-less digital identity. Having a chip is not really required.” the CEO spoke regarding the chip rumors inside Adhaar card.

Before using the app, the phone number has to be linked to the app. “Registered Mobile Number is essential to use the mAadhaar app. In case your mobile number is not registered with Aadhaar visit the nearest Enrollment Centre/Mobile Update End Point,” notes the mAadhaar app description on Play store.
