Indian smartphone maker in collaboration with Bharti Airtel launched its first Android Oreo Go smartphone – Micromax Bharat Go. This device focuses on bringing more Indians online. Moreover, the device has an optimized Android Oreo version for devices with 1 GB RAM or less.

Google has specially made apps which run on the Android Go version of devices. These including Gmail Go, Maps Go, Files Go, Chrome, YouTube Go, Assistant Go, Play Store, and GBoard.

Shubhodip Pal, Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer of Micromax, said, “Android Oreo (Go Edition) is a compelling proposition for a mobile-first economy like India’s. We are proud to announce the launch of Bharat GO. It is a smartphone powered by the Android Oreo (Go Edition) .”

Vani Venkatesh, Chief Marketing Officer, Bharti Airtel said, “Along with Google, we look forward to collaborating with device manufacturers. The purpose is to leverage the power of Android Go. Also, we want to bring highly affordable smartphone options to the market. Android Go-powered devices like Bharat Go will offer customers an opportunity to upgrade to affordable smartphones that also deliver a great experience.”

About Micromax Bharat Go :

The Bharat GO smartphone has a 4.5-inch display which shows images at an FWVGA resolution (854 x 480 pixels). On the hardware side, it boasts a quad-core MT6737M chipset by MediaTek which integrates a Mali T720 GPU. It has 5 MP front and rear camera.

The device comes with 1 GB DD3 RAM and 8 GB internal storage. It is possible to expand it with a micro SD up to 128 GB. It is powered by a 2,000 mAh battery and supports OTG for storage and serial communication. The Smart GO device comes with support for Dual SIM card.

It is priced at Rs 4,399 in India. Most of all,  the collaboration with Airtel under the “Mera Pehla Smartphone Initiative” has made the device cheaper as the company is providing a cashback of Rs 2,000, which brings the effective price of the phone to Rs 2,399.

    Micromax Bharat Go smartphone seems really good. Looking at its price, it is one of the best phones in this range. With 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM, the device can perfectly run on Android Go.

    Also, I like Android Go apps very much. Its apps are very light and easy to download.
