Microsoft has announced next-generation surface book lineup in the USA. The 2 in 1 convertible is now available in 13.5-inch and a 15-inch display setup, powered by the latest Intel 8th Generation Core processors.

The 15-inch Surface Book offers a 2K IPS LCD (3240 x 2160 resolution) touch screen panel with 260 frames per-inch powered by Intel Core i7 8650U processor up to 4.2 GHz clock speed with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB GPU with 16 GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB SSD storage options.

The device offers up to 17 hours of battery backup on a single charge and 5 hours with just tablet usage. In terms of connectivity, the device offers Bluetooth 4.1, USB-A, USB-C, SD card slot, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

In terms of camera capability, the device offers an 8 MP rear-facing camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera with 1080p video recording capability with video calling capability. Including the keypad, the device measures 13.5 x 9.87 x 0.9 and weights 1.9 kg and weights 0.8 kg in the tablet mode.

The 13.5-inch Microsoft Surface Book 2 offers a (3000 x 2000 resolution) touchscreen panel, powered by either 7th generation Core i5  with 8 GB RAM or 8th generation Core i7 SoC paired with 16 GB RAM. The GPU is downgraded from GTX 1060 to GTX 1050 with 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB SSD storage options with similar ports including 2 USB-A, 1 USB-C, Surface connect, SD card slot, headphone jack. Both models also offer Dolby Atmos sound signature.

According to Microsoft, these devices enable Microsoft mixed reality with the top of the line AR and VR capability. Here are the complete pricing details of all new Microsoft Surface Book 2.

The 13.5-inch model is priced at $1,499 (INR 95,000) for the Core i5 and 256 GB model, and the 15-inch model with Core i7 and 256 GB storage retails for $2,499 (INR 1,62,451). According to Microsoft spokesperson, the device offers up to 50 percent improved CPU and GPU processing, in comparison with the present MacBook lineup.
