Nokia is trying to make a comeback in the Indian smartphone market by launching a phone in every possible price range. The Nokia 1 aims to redefine the low range segment of Nokia. Nokia 1 is priced at Rs 5,499 and it has to compete with Redmi 5A and 10 or D.

The Nokia 1 runs on Android Oreo Go edition, A version of Android designed with the budget smartphone in mind.

Design

Nokia 1 comes with a compact and nifty design. However, Practically the design looks outdated and old with a small screen and Thick borders above and below the display. It is a plastic build design with a white plastic rim around the front fascia that gives the phone a cool look.

The volume and power buttons are located on the right side of the device, The 3.5 mm headphone jack is on the top of the device and the bottom comes with a Micro USB port, The rear camera and single LED flash are placed at the back.

The device is completely made out of plastic and does not give a premium feel. The phone is 9.5 mm thick, although the phone is thick it is very comfortable in hands.
The phone has two dedicated sim slots and a dedicated MicroSD card slot.

Performance

Due to 1 GB RAM the phone slows down with 5-6  apps open in the background along with slowing down, the frame rate drop and keyboard lag.

The google apps also seem to crash a lot along with the nondetection of location in google maps. As expected, the lower range phone is not at all build for gaming, talking off papers, the Nokia 1 is not satisfactory as it seems on papers.

Camera and Battery

Seeing the price point, it will not be fair to accept a miracle in camera performance and it came out so, the camera is a disappointment, the picture is full of noise and washed colors.

The charging performance also seems to disappoint us. The battery just last 8-9 Hrs and does not support a full day usage.

Conclusion

Looking at the overall performance and specifications of Nokia 1, it seems to be a waste of money as it offers you the features of 3000-3500 Rs phone at such a price point.
