HMD Global backed Nokia is all set to rule the entry-level smartphone market again by launching a sophisticated entry level Nokia 2 smartphone for just $99 (INR 6,500). For the price tag that the device is asking, it does happen to offer a lot of bells and whistles, will be a true value for money smartphone for sure.

However, as of now, there is no official announcement from the company. A reseller from the bay has confirmed the price tag of the Nokia 2 with a few its tech specifications. In terms of the build quality, as one can expect the device offers plastic shell metal unibody design which comes with the variety of colours. For the starters, the device manages to go with the internal code name TA-1035 which happens to offer dual SIM card slots with 4G LTE and VoLte capability on either of the slots.

In terms of tech specifications, the device happens to be powered by an entry-level Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 Quad-core SoC paired with 1 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 8 GB onboard storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot (up to 64 GB). As per the display is concerned, we have no information on that, however, considering the price tag Nokia 2 might offer either XVGA or qHD IPS LCD resolution display and a 4.5-inch screen.

The same story continues with the camera department as well, in fact, the device happens to have both front facing and rear-facing camera, however, there is no clue on the optics used (probably 5 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera). The device will be powered by either Android Nougat 7.1 or Android Oreo 8.0 operating system (depending on the launch date) with stock Android user experience. Finally, the battery, in fact, this is the first Nokia smartphone to feature a massive 4000 mAh Li-ion battery, considering the entry-level specs and a low-resolution display, the battery should offer hours of standby time and at least 2 days of usage on a single charge.

So, what do you think about the Nokia 2? Is this is the backup smartphone that we all have been waiting for? Share your views about the same in the comments below.
