HMD Global alias Nokia is getting ready to launch the next generation Android-powered Nokia smartphones and here is the first smartphone the Nokia 6 (2018) from the list, which is expected to replace the Nokia 6, which really did well in the Indian market.

The smartphone was spotted on the TENAA (Chinese telecom authority), which confirms the device is already in the mass production and expected to launch in China in next few weeks. So, here are the complete details on the Nokia 6 (2018). The phone goes with a code name Ta-1054

In terms of design and aesthetics, the device looks fresh but still retails few elements from the first generation Nokia Android smartphones. The rear-faced fingerprint scanner means the smartphone is likely to have narrow bezels and a taller display just like the recently launched smartphone. The company has retained the similar full metal unibody design like the Nokia 6, so, you will have the same premium hand feel like the original Nokia 6. Like the Nokia 2, the smartphone might just offer software navigation keys instead of hardware buttons on the original Nokia 6.

On to the front, the smartphone has a taller 18:9 aspect ratio display with all new bezel-less design. However, we are unclear about the display technology (IPS LCD or OLED technology). Whatever the display technology on the device will not disturb the fact that, the device will offer at least 6.0-inch screen real estate with FHD+ 2160x1080p resolution panel. Unlike the last generation smartphone, the smartphone will offer 600 series processor instead of the 400 series. The smartphone is expected to offer either Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Octa-core SoC, paired with 3 GB or 4 GB RAM with 32 GB or 64 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot.

In terms of connectivity, the smartphone will have dual SIM slot with a dedicated micro SD slot. So, you can expect 4G LTE and VoLte capability on both the SIM slot. Additionally, the device will support dual-band WiFi, WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC.

The smartphone has settled for a single camera on the back and on the front. The main camera is expected to feature 12 MP shooter with 4K video recording capability and an 8 MP selfie shooter with 1080p video recording capability. Overall, the device should offer better camera performance compared to the original Nokia 6.

The Operating system on the device is expected to remain at a stock Android operating system with Android Oreo out of the box. The smartphone will future security and software updates as soon as Google rolls out the same.

Finally, the device is powered by a 3000 mAh Li-ion sealed battery with fast charging capability via USB type C port with USB OTG support. The phone is likely to include the much obedient 3.5 mm headphone jack. Coming to the pricing, the smartphone will retail anywhere between $250 to $300 and expected to announce on CES in January 2018.

So, what do you think about the Nokia 6 (2018)? Does it have the features that you are speculated from the next generation Nokia 6?
