HMD Global held an event today (17th August 2017) in London to unveil their first Android flagship smartphone, the Nokia 8. Nokia 8 offers premium built quality, cutting edge technology and latest software. Overall, Nokia 8 is a smartphone that can stand between iOS and Android to show the world who is the boss.

The Nokia 8 is carved out of 6000-Aerospace grade aluminium (used in the making of the aeroplanes), with state of the art CNC technology, the metal-body is as reflective as the mirror finish. It has everything that a premium-consumer expects from a flagship smartphone like, dual rear camera setup, high-resolution screen, massive battery and what not?

This is also the first device in the history of the smartphones to use both rear and front camera instantaneously, which Nokia calls as

Be less Selfie. Be more #Bothie.

The dual rear 13 MP (RGB sensor + monochrome sensor) equipped with ZEISS optics can capture real-life like photographs even in the low lightening condition. The camera also supports 4K video recording with OIS, combined with OZO Audio (tech used by Hollywood filmmakers and music producers) one can record cinematic quality videos with 360 degrees surrounding without any hassle.

Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 835 Mobile Platform combined with 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM will make sure that the device always completes its task in the stipulated time frame. 64 GB UFS 2.1 + additional 256 expandability via micro SD card means, there is no dearth in the storage compartment. full-length copper cooling pipe with graphite shield will make sure that the device always stays cool, even when it is performing its best.

Nokia has something that no other smartphone has, a 5.3 inch IPS LCD screen(2k 1440×2560, 554 ppi) with polarisation and protection from 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5 which can go up to 700 nits of brightness is something exceptional. The 3090 mAh battery with Quick-charge 3.0 capabilities(via USB type C with up to USB 3.1 data transfer speed) will be sufficient to any heavy user.

Finally, as icing on the cake, the device runs on un-adulterated version Android Nougat 7.1.1, the device also features IP54 rating (splash proof) and even the conventional 3.5 mm headphone jack. The Nokia 8 will be available from September (initially in Europe) for 599 Euros or INR 45292.60.

Though few people have commented that the device is overpriced, I always believe every Nokia phone is worth its price tag for its built quality features and after sale services.
