Nokia 9 PureView, which is an upcoming flagship smartphone from HMD Global, has already amassed much anticipation due to its penta-camera setup which would be the first integration of five cameras in a smartphone. While the smartphone’s five-camera setup has already created a buzz, a new report suggests that the Nokia 9 PureView would be coming in with a powerful fast charging technology.

According to a report from GSMArena, a new Nokia device with model number TA-1094 has passed through China’s 3C certification agency. The listing does not reveal many details about the device, however, it does share that the phone will be packing an 18W quick charger.

The Nokia 9 PureView is said to come with a 6-inch AMOLED QHD+ display with an in-display fingerprint scanner. In terms of performance, however, the reports claim that Nokia will be powered by Qualcomm’s a year old Snapdragon 845 SoC rather than the latest 855 processor.

The reports are also claiming that HMD Global will introduce a 5G variant of the phone in the future.

The most interesting part of the Nokia 9 PureView is its camera and the module compromises of five sensors with a main RGB sensor, a wide-angle sensor, telephoto, monochrome and a depth sensor.

HMD Global acquired Nokia’s PureView trademark from Microsoft last year. The PureView trademark first made its debut with Nokia on Nokia 808 PureView and was one of Nokia’s luminary feature of that time. The Nokia 808 PureView packed a 41-megapixel camera that enabled capturing ‘oversampled shots’. Microsoft used the branding for its Windows OS smartphone with the Nokia Lumia 1020 in 2013.

HMD Global Invites

HMD Global has sent out media invites for its event at MWC 2019 which is scheduled to take place next month in Barcelona. The company is expected to reveal the Nokia 9 PureView in the event along with Nokia 6.2.
