OnePlus 5T is out and the fans are loving it (most of them). However, those who bought the OnePlus 5 are also shamming the company as they have left no choice for the OnePlus 5 users to upgrade to the newer model. The company has launched more than 2 flagship smartphone in a time span of 6 months.

The brand’s co-founder Carl Pei had a OnePlus 5T AMA (ask me anything) to clarify the doubts that the users base had. Here are some of the interesting questions and answers regarding this issue.

When the user asked about the continuity of the T variant ever year, Carl said that, if there are enough technological upgrades and the company thinks that, it will be useful for the users, they will launch a T variant. However, he also said that they haven’t decided anything about the next iteration of the OnePlus 5T model, so, don’t expect anything from the company.

The company also confirmed that the OnePlus 5T does have a LED notifications light, which is almost located in the exact position, just like the OnePlus 5. So, the brand hasn’t compromised on this feature, in favor of the larger 6.0-inch screen.

When the user asked about the QHD display, Carl answered the question in such a way that, the display on the OnePlus 5T is good enough and the users will not be able to differentiate between the OnePlus 5T and smartphone with QHD display.

Carl explained this in such a way that, he has shown the smartphone to the few selected user base to inspect the features. The user base said that there is an improvement in the display quality compared to the OnePlus 5 and they even thought it was a QHD panel. However, later on, he said we are still using a full HD panel, and “if these users cannot differentiate between the two display technology, then, none of our user bases can differentiate between the same” He also commented that the company does not take a checklist approach, instead, they give importance to the user experience.

When asked about the dual stereo speakers, he said that “When we feel it (dual speakers) delivers enough user value (probably never).” So, don’t expect dual stereo speakers from OnePlus at least on OnePlus 6. Carl also said that they have opted for the new 20 MP F/1.7 lens for the improved portrait mode and low light performance. Yes, officially, there is no telephoto lens or X1.6 optical zooming capability what so ever.

In India, the OnePlus 5T will be available via Amazon and OnePlus stores for the price tag of ₹32,999 and ₹37,999, which makes it a great deal, if you are looking for a premium flagship smartphone. Are you planning to buy the OnePlus 5T? Share your views in the comment box.
