OnePlus started using high-quality biometric fingerprint scanner from OnePlus 2, in fact, the fingerprint scanner used in the OnePlus 3, 3T, and 5 is the fastest amongst the competition. From the beginning, these smartphones featured a fingerprint scanner, which was located on the front of the device, which also doubles as the home button.

As the smartphone is going head to head with the other premium flagship smartphone makers, the upcoming smartphone from the OnePlus, AKA, the OnePlus 5T features an almost bezel-less display, which makes no room for the fingerprint scanner on the front. So, finally, the company is placing the fingerprint scanner on the back of the device, just like Google Pixel 2 XL, LG G6, and Samsung Galaxy S8

Talking more about the display, the OnePlus 5T is expected to portray a 5.99-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen with all new 18:9 cinematic aspect ration with narrower bezels on all the sides. So, though the device offers bigger display, due to new aspect ratio the overall form factor is expected to remain the same. The device might also offer the HDR 10 capability for the first time ever.

Coming to the internal specifications, for the most part, the specifications are expected to remain the same. The device will be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Octa-core SoC, 6 GB or 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM with 64 GB or 128 GB onboard flash storage. Just like OnePlus’s previous lineup, the device will not offer an external SD card slot.

In terms of camera capability, the device is likely to offer an identical dual 16 MP + 20 MP camera combination with X2 optical zoom and a 16 MP selfie shooter with 1080p video recording capability. If you are concerned about the connectivity, then dual SIM card slots with 4G LTE and VoLte capability will come to your rescue. Finally, coming to the operating system, the device is expected to be powered by Android Oreo 8.0 with custom Oxygen UI on the top.

As per the battery is concerned, the device is expected to feature a 3000 mAh Li-ion battery with Dash charging capability (best in the market).

Finally, the company might solve the long asked requirements like IP rating for water and dust resistance. The wireless charging will not be solved as the device still uses the metal back panel and the company might also include the trending 3.5 mm headphone jack as well. Finally, coming to the pricing, the device is expected to be priced INR 3,000 more than the OnePlus 5. So, the 6 GB variant of the OnePlus 5T might retail for INR 37,000 and the 8 GB RAM variant will be available for INR 40,000.
