Oppo India has launched the third iteration of Oppo F5, and the third one goes by the name Oppo F5 Youth Edition. This specific model is made in a such a way that, it almost resembles the original Oppo F5, but has a bit of change, that brings down the device’s price from ₹19,999 t0 16,999. The smartphone will be available from 8th December via offline and online e-commerce websites.

Just like the Oppo F5, the Oppo F5 Youth goes with the full metal unibody design that we are all familiar with. In fact, from the external point of view, there is no difference between the Oppo F5 and the Oppo F5 Youth Edition what so ever. However, internally, there are many compromises, which are expected due to the marginal price cut.

Considering the recently launched Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus, this device does feel a bit overpriced. Because, all the features on this device are on those smartphones, which cost much lesser than the Oppo F5 Youth Edition. However, this should not stop the Oppo enthusiasts from purchasing their latest device. Here are the complete tech specifications of the Oppo F5 Youth.

The best part about the Oppo F5 Youth is the display. The smartphone offers a state of the art 6.0-inch FHD+ 2160x1080p resolution IPS LCD screen, protected by 2.5D curved tempered glass on the top. This class 2017 display almost offers 400 pixels per inch and for the naked eye, this visual on this should be a treat. We would also like to mention that, this specific phone offers an 18:9 aspect ratio screen, which means this device will be similar to a smartphone with 5.5-inch screen, but due to the new resolution, the display will stick inside the compact body.

The Oppo F5 Youth Edition is powered by the same processor, that powers the original Oppo F5. The MediaTek Helio P23 Octa-core processor is capable of doing day to day tasks without any trouble. This Mobile Solution paired with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB onboard flash storage should be good enough, considering the fact that the dedicated micro SD card slot can take SD cards up to 128 GB.

In terms of connectivity, the device offers a dual SIM card slot with 4G LTE and VoLte capability on both the slots. As one can expect, the device does offer standard features like WiFi, WiFi Hotspot, Wireless FM Radio, Bluetooth, and 3.5 mm headphone jack.

The camera capabilities of the Oppo F5 Youth are a bit underrated compared to the original edition. The Youth Edition offers a 13 MP main camera with a F/2.2 aperture with 1080p video recording capability. For the selfie camera, the smartphone maker has opted for a slightly better 16 MP selfie camera with F/2.0 aperture with similar 1080p video recording capability.

The company continues to offer Android Nougat based custom operating system with heavy third-party customization. If you ask us, do not expect any software updates what so ever. The fingerprint scanner is mounted on the back, which can unlock the smartphone in just 0.25 seconds.

Finally, the 3200 mAh sealed battery will last up to a complete working day on a single charge. The only downside about the device is the fact that, it still uses outdated micro USB port for charging and data syncing.
