Panasonic, the Japanese smartphone brand has offered a new entry-level smartphone for the Indian netizens. The Panasonic P91 is the latest smartphone from the maker, which offers a great deal for the smartphone enthusiasts. The smartphone is priced at ₹6,490 and will be made available across the online and offline stores from 17th November 2017 onwards.

The device offers a special graphite film, that offers protection from the overheating and the circuit damages. The phone will be available in Gold, Blue, and Black colour shades with a shiny plastic user replaceable panel.

Coming to the actual tech specifications, the smartphone is equipped with a 5.0-inch HD IPS LCD screen, protected by 2.5D curved tempered glass on the top. Under the hood, the device is powered by a MediaTek MT6737M 1.1 GHz Quad-core SoC, paired with just 1 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 16 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot (which accepts micro SD cards up to 128 GB). To bad mouth about this smartphone, the limited 1 GB RAM could be the main shortcoming of this smartphone.

Coming to the camera specifications, the smartphone offers an 8 MP autofocus camera with 720p video recording capability. For the selfie enthusiasts, the phone offers a 5 MP fixed focus selfie camera. Both cameras are bundled with a lot of features including barcode scanner and beauty mode.

If you are concerned about the connectivity, the smartphone offers dual SIM card slots with 4G LTE and VoLte capability on both the slots with support for WiFi, WiFi Hotspot and Bluetooth 4.2. The phone also supports analogue FM radio with the standard 3.5 mm headphone jack.

The Panasonic P91 gets its regenerative energy from the 2500 mAh Li-ion battery, with normal 10W charging capability via micro USB port with USB OTG support as well. Overall, this is a nice smartphone with a lot of features focused towards the first time smartphone users. However, if you what to use WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and other memory hungry applications, then the 1 GB RAM will not be sufficient.

Here is the official product statement from Pankaj Rana, Business Head, Mobility Division, Panasonic India:

“With P91, we aim to deliver exciting features and experience in an affordable price. Our new smartphone is a VoLTE device with high sound quality, non-hybrid sim slot and attractive glossy back finish. P91 is a smartphone which comes with style and assists our consumers on the go.
