Paytm was removed from the Play Store as it didn’t abide by the policies of Google.
Well, 7-8 hours after being banned or removed from the Play Store, Paytm is back again on Play Store. They confirmed it by tweeting from their official twitter account.
The tweet read: Update: And we’re back!
There was also an official statement given by Paytm. They said
“We continue to work with Google to restore the app. We assure all our users that their balances and linked accounts are 100 per cent safe. Our services are fully functional on all existing apps and you can continue enjoying Paytm like before,”

Earlier today, Google removed Paytm from Play Store as it was driving users to sites which promoted sports betting or fantasy sports. Google is strictly against apps which promote any kind of gambling. Therefore you won’t find Dream 11 or MPL on PlayStore.
If we listen to their exact words, this is what Google says. “We don’t allow online casinos or support any unregulated gambling apps that facilitate sports betting. This includes if an app leads consumers to an external website that allows them to participate in paid tournaments to win real money or cash prizes, it is a violation of our policies.”
You won’t find any betting system in the Paytm app but it links you to the third party apps which conduct such activities. The ease of using PayTM on these third-party apps may have been viewed by Google as the element which makes PayTM as supporting these sites. Hence Google decided to take Paytm off their Play Store.
Well, this shows how strict actually Google is. Even a huge company like Paytm can face consequences in quick time if found guilty. Google will also take down the apps which shows pop-ups or ads which promote such kind of activities.
