As promised, Motorola has launched a new Moto MOD. This time, this is for those, who are into the photography and like to cherish their memories by creating instant photos on the go. The Polaroid Insta-Share is priced at $199.99 (₹12,999) and available on both online and offline retail stores.
The best part of this MOD is that this accessory can be used with the first generation and the second generation Moto Z line of smartphone. Just like the other Moto MODS, this pairs with the 8 pin connector on the bottom of the Moto Z series smartphones.
The Moto Polaroid Insta-share can print 2×3 inches coloured photos instantly via camera or photos that are stored in the gallery. The device doesn’t use any cartridge, instead, it uses the Zero Ink AKA ZInk technology, which is a very futurist way of photo printing. The photos printed on the MOD are smudge proof, waterproof, and tear resistance, so, they can last for longer time frame without any distortion.
The Moto Polaroid Insta-share features a rechargable 500 mAh Li-ion sealed battery, which can be recharged via USB type C port. So, using this attachment for a longer amount of time will not drain the phone’s battery. Moto claims that the fully charged MOD can print up to 20 photos. However, the ZInk papers will not come cheap and expect to be priced $5 for the 20 sheets, so, your memories are expected to cost a bomb for sure.
However, there are many wireless instant printers that are available in India for the price tag less than that of the Moto MOD. The implication of the other printers might be quite different, but, will have the same application for the long haul.
