According to a report by the developers of latest video game Fortnite, Epic Games is now facing a copyright violation. The copyright violation lawsuit has been filed from PUBG Corp. PUBG Corp. is the creator of Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds. PUBG Corp is a subsidiary of South Korean developer Bluehole. The company is suing Epic Games in order to determine whether Epic’s game was directly copied from their game. This information has been confirmed by an unnamed PUBG official to The Korea Times. It also seems like that Epic Game’s plans to launch its game in Korea may be hampered. As according to some reports the claim is specifically going against Epic Games in Korea.

Battle of the best between PUBG and Fortnite:

Since its release in last year, Fortnite has been seeing a huge surge in its popularity. The popularity even grew after the introduction of a new model that was named battle royale in September. In the free-to-play model, one of the modes available in the game, the players have to scavenge for materials and build structures to protect themselves. Apart from that players also have to engage in a shootout with other players to be the last man standing.

Both the games Fortnite Battle Royale and Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds which is commonly called as PUBG do share a lot of similarities. Both the games are based on the concept of survival. In both the games players have to jump from a plane with a parachute and fight to the death. In both the games the playable area of the map starts to shrink towards a random spot. This spot tends to be the place where players have to head towards to avoid taking damage.

So this was bound to happen someday. However, this news didn’t just come up from nowhere. According to various reports PUBG’s creators have previously made their dissatisfaction with the similarities between both titles. This was made even known prior to Fortnite: Battle Royale launch in September 2017.
