When it comes to the smartphone, choosing a perfect mobile is a bit of difficult task. That too when the smartphones are from the same OEM with little changes. The recently launched Lenovo K8 Plus and Lenovo K8 Note is no exception, other than the two prominent changes, both devices offer similar features. So, here are the few points which help you to choose between the duo.

SIM and expandable storage: Both Lenovo K8 Plus and Lenovo K8 Note offers dual SIM card slots and a dedicated micro Sd card slot with 4G LTE and VoLte capability, so you can go with either of the two devices if you are not bothered about the other features. In fact, one of the key features of these devices is its ability to offer separate SD card slot.

Camera: When it comes to the camera, once again it’s not a deal breaker. The dual camera setup on both these devices offers similar features (13 MP + 5 MP) one being a main RGB sensor and a 5 MP depth sensing sensor. However, there is a bit of a difference in the front-facing selfie camera, the Lenovo K8 Note offers 13 MP front-facing camera and the Lenovo K8 Plus comes with an 8 MP selfie camera (which might be a deal breaker for someone).

Processor, RAM, and internal storage: The Lenovo K8 Note is powered by flagship class Helio X23 Deca-core SoC, paired with 3 GB / 4 GB RAM with 32 GB or 64 GB onboard flash storage. The K8 Plus is powered by Helio P20 Octa-core SoC, with 3 or 4 GB RAM and 32 GB onboard flash storage. If you are into gaming and multitasking, then going with the K8 Note is a better option due to its powerful CPU, GPU, and the 64 GB internal memory (games work well only in internal storage).

Display: Both devices offer 1080p IPS LCD panel with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.0 protection on the top. However, the K8 Note comes with a standard 5.5-inch screen size and the K8 Plus offers smaller 5.2-inch screen size. The K8 Plus offers much denser display compared to K8 Note. If you are looking for a compact smartphone with a high-resolution display, then go with K8 Plus. If you are into multimedia and VR content consumption goes with the Lenovo K8 Note. My personal preference is the compact K8 Plus.

Battery: Lenovo K8 Note and Plus features mammoth 4000 mAh Li-ion battery with fast charging capability, both devices do support fast charging and USB OTG with reverse charging capability. Coming to the actual battery performances, the K8 Plus with smaller size display is expected to offer better screen on time and standby time. For those who, the battery is the main preference then go with the K8 Plus. In terms of real world usage, both devices will last for a complete working day without any hassle.

Operating system: Lenovo has ditched its Vibe UI in favor of the stock Android operating system. According to Lenovo, both devices are entitled to receive Android Oreo in the near future.

Conclusion: The major differentiating factor amongst the is price factor, the 3 GB variant of Lenovo K8 Plus retails for INR 10,999 exclusively on Flipkart and the 3 GB variant of Lenovo k8 Note retails for INR 12,999 exclusively via Amazon. For the extra INR 2000, one can get 0.3-inch bigger display, slightly better front-facing camera and two extra cores on the processor.
