Xiaomi India launches an upgraded version Redmi 4A in India. The original Redmi 4A was a great hit. At just INR 5,999 the device offered 5 inch HD screen, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB onboard storage and 13 MP rear-facing camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera.

Now, the device offers double the storage 32 GB instead of 16 GB and an extra gig of RAM 3 GB instead of 2 GB for just INR 1,000 extra. The newer model retails for INR 6,999 and available via Flipkart, Amazon India, Mi.com, PayTM, Tata QLiQ and Mi Home.

One can grab the device from these online or offline retailers from 31st August onwards.

The Redmi 4A is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 Quad-core SoC, paired with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB onboard storage. The device offers metal look-alike design in multiple colour shades including Dark grey, Gold and Rose Gold. The device offers dual SIM card slot with a Hybrid solution, one can either use a SIM + SD or SIM + SIM. Both the slots support 4G LTE and VoLte.

Other features like WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi hotspot features do exist. The device is highly appreciated for its features at an affordable price tag. Though the device offers plastic unibody design, the device doesn’t feel cheap at all. In terms of build quality, Xioami has nailed it. However, the device doesn’t sport a finger print scanner is the only sinner on this device.

The 5 inch IPS LCD 720p HD screen is protected by 2.5D curved tempered glass. The device runs on Android Nougat 7.1.1 with custom MIUI on the top. The device is also tipped to receive next generation MIUI 9 in the near future. The device features 3120 mAh non-user replaceable battery. Considering the specifications the device will last for an entire day without searching for the wall adapter.
