According to the recently available information, Samsung is all set to launch their first affordable dual camera smartphone in China on 7th September. The Galaxy C8 (SM-C7100) will be the second smartphone from Samsung to offer this feature.

In terms of design and build quality, the device might offer an all-metal unibody design with 2.5D glass on the front. The device might follow the present generation Galaxy J series in terms of external design. The Galaxy C8 will be offered in Black, Gold and silver colour shades.

The device is expected to feature Samsung’s legendary AMOLED display with 1080p resolution and 5.5-inch screen size. The device will be powered by Exynos 7000 series chipset with at least 3 GB or 4GB LPDDR3 RAM and 32 GB or 64 GB flash storage with a dedicated SD card slot.

The prominent camera setup is expected to house a 13 MP + 5 MP rear camera setup (just like the one in Lenovo K8 Note). The device won’t be offering any fancy features like X2 optical zoom or optical image stabilisation, however, the device should be able to take photos with the varied depth of field. The might offer a similar 13 MP front-facing camera with front facing LED flash.

On to battery, the device will house a 3000 mAh battery (non-user replaceable) with rapid charging capability. The device is most likely to ditch USB type C in favour of micro USB. The Samsung Galaxy C8 is likely to feature dual SIM card slot with 4G LTE and VoLte. Features like WiFi, Bluetooth and HotSpot can also be expected.

If everything goes well, then the device might debut in China on 7th September and later in India (on October). The device is expected to be priced at INR 20,000. What do you think about this mid-tier Samsung smartphone? Let us know in the comments below.
