Samsung India finally launches their much-anticipated flagship mobile, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in India. The device is priced at INR 67,900 and available via Amazon India, Samsung official e-store, and offline retail stores. The pre-booking for the phone has already begun and the device will start to ship from 21st September.

FYI: this is the first Note branded flagship smartphone in two years, as the Galaxy Note 7 never came to India due to its fire breathing property. The only change between the international variant and the India variant is the processor, the International variant is fitted with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, whereas the Indian variant comes with Exynos 8895 Octa-core SoC built on the top of 10 nm FinFET technology.

Samsung is also bundling few offers like 1-time screen replacement and fast charging wireless charger for the free of cost. Additionally, the company is also offering INR 4000 cash back if you use HDFC credit card and 448 GB of Jio 4G data at no extra cost (over the time frame of 8 months). There is even an exchange offer for the previous note users as well.

As mentioned earlier, the device is powered by flagship class Exynos 8895 Octa-core SoC, paired with 6 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64 GB onboard flash storage with a Hybrid SIM tray (which accept either 2 SIM card slots or a SIM and a micro SD card). The Note 8 gets a big 6.3-inch QHD+ (1440×2960 pixels) Super AMOLED touch panel with curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the top.

The note features dual camera solution with a wide angle with F/1.7 and a telephoto lens with F/2.4 with (both 12 MP), the mobile offers portrait mode, 4K video recording capability as well as slow motion video recording capability at 720p. For the selfie enthusiasts, the device comes with an 8 MP front-facing camera with F/1.7 aperture and 1080p video recording capability. The Note 8 also offers a special camera, which enables the 3D facial recognition in the device.

In terms of operating system, the device runs on the custom version of Android Nougat 7.1.2 with a promised update for the Android Oreo in the near future. The device features a 3300 mAh battery with rapid charging capability and also supports induction based wireless charging. Like most of the flagship smartphones, the Samsung does offer 4G LTE and VoLte capability with the support for dual band WiFi. The device also offers NFC, which can be used for the Samsung pay throughout the country.
