Samsung took the contract for manufacturing Qualcomm’s latest flagship SoC, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, as the result the first stock was used by themselves for their current flagship Galaxy S8

It looks like Samsung is in talks with the leading mobile processor designer Qualcomm to acquire the early production of the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC.

As a result, upcoming Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be the first smartphones to be powered by the processor (at least for a month after its launch). This could be an added advantage to the Samsung, however, for the competitors will suffer a lot from this deal. When the flagship smartphone comes with the greatest chip and no one is ready to compete with them, people are forced to get the only available option.

As we have seen this year, LG G6 the flagship offering from LG was powered by the last generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 due to the same reason. According to rumours, LG G7 will not be powered by the latest flagship processor as well, which makes it slightly less interesting.

What do you think about these policies from chipset maker, is it unfair or is this the way the smartphone market works? Let us know your views in the comment below.
