Samsung India has launched two new premium smart accessories in India. The Samsung Gear Fit 2 and the Samsung Gear Sport are priced at ₹13,590 and ₹23,990 respectively. The Gear Fit 2 Pro is available exclusively on Flipkart and Gear Sport will be available via Amazon from December. These watches will be available in Black, Blue, and Red colour bands. The one interesting fact about these smart bands is the fact that, these smart bands can be paired with either Android or iOS powered smartphone (Android 5.0 or higher and iOS 9.0 or higher). So, most of the smartphones that are existing in the market can be used with these smart accessories.
Additionally, the company also unveiled a new Apple Airport look alike IconX earbuds, which retails for ₹13,490.
To begin with the Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro, which is designed to go with your sports wearables with a trendy one of a kind curved display. The band offers a 1.5-inch Super AMOLED touch panel with a resolution of 216x432p, this roughly offers 300+ pixels per inch, making it in line with the other smart bands. The band is powered by custom 1 GHz dual-core processor, paired with 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of onboard flash storage.
Upon pairing the Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro with the smartphone, the display can be used as a secondary display to which company calls the “effective secondary display”. Using the display, the user will be able to navigate via maps, watch the activity statistics, reply to the messages and many more tasks without actually opening the smartphone. As this band is built for those, who are concerned about the fitness and health, the band does offer features like heart rate sensor, Bluetooth, WiFi, and Build in GPS for a precision data calculation.
The Samsung Gear Sport offers a conventional watch look with a circular face. The 1.2-inch touch panel uses the same Super AMOLED panel with 300+ pixels per inch. The smartwatch is powered by the same processor with 768 MB of RAM instead of 512 MB on the Fit 2 Pro. Along with the above-mentioned features, the watch does offer activity recognition algorithm, which calculates the exact calories burnt on an exercise. The company has partnered with Under Armor and Speedo to support third-party integration with Under Armour Record, MyFitnessPal, MapMyRun, and Endomondo applications.
