Samsung opens world’s largest Onyx Cinema LED screen in India

The world’s largest Onyx Cinema LED has been launched by Samsung in India. The 14-meter screen has been installed in Bengaluru’s iconic Swagath Cinema, which will be renamed as Swagath Onyx Theater. The theater was inaugurated by award-winning musician and composer, and Harman’s global ambassador, AR Rahman.

There are only two other 14-meter Onyx Cinema LED screens installed globally–those are in Malaysia and China, while the third one has been introduced in India. In total, 16 countries in the world have witnessed the revolutionary cinema screens from Samsung.

Swagath Onyx Theater has 618 seats making it the world’s largest theater with an Onyx Cinema LED screen. The theatre, which is located on Bengaluru’s MG Road, has now been updated to offer 4K resolution, HDR capabilities, and impressive contrast and brightness. Movie-goers will be able to enjoy true-to-life picture quality, color vibrancy and accuracy at the theater.

The sound system at Onyx Swagath Theater is equipped with Onyx Sound, which is an innovative audio solution by Harman and Samsung’s Audio Lab. It compromises of Crown amplifiers, BSS signal processing, and JBL Professional cinema loudspeakers. Onyx screens are also 3D ready.
