Samsung has finally pulled back the curtains disclosing their most anticipated phablet of the year, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. After the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, the company leave no stones unturned.

The Galaxy Note 8 has taken its design from its small brother Galaxy S8 or S8+, instead of more curvy the device now feels more square with professional looks. Just like earlier days, the device offers dual edge curved display with preposterous 6.3-inch 2K OLED screen. The Note 8 is the first Samsung smartphone to feature cinematic [18.5:9] aspect ratio making it something like LG G6, the infinity display looks bold, big and beautiful.

The device will be powered by either Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8890 (depending on the market). The standard 6 GB RAM is now equipped with 64 GB onboard storage and the memory is expandable by micro SD card up to 256 GB. Like any of the premium android smartphones, the device runs on Android Nougat and expected to receive Android Oreo within December 2017.

On to the camera, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is the first smartphone from Korean giant to dual camera setup. The setup is something similar to the one featured in Apple iPhone 7 Plus or OnePlus 5. The dual 12 MP camera with (RGB + RGB) with a F/1.7 aperture for normal sensor and a F/2.4 aperture for telephoto sensor have their own dedicated OIS (first time in any smartphone) the device comes with X2 optical zoom, live focus (bokeh effect) and dual capture. Dual capture will give two photos taken from the main sensor as well as the telephoto sensor. The camera does support 4K video recording capability. The front-facing 8 MP camera does come with PDAF and auto focusing feature as well. On the software end, one can control the amount of background blurriness that needs and also comes with more sophisticated food more, which enhances the food in the picture.

In terms of battery, the device has settled for slightly smaller 3300 mAH battery with Qualcomm Quick charge 4.0 capability. featuring all these fancy things doesn’t come cheap, as the device is priced at preposterous  $930~$960 depending on the carrier you choose from. The direct conversion will be around INR 61502.39, however, one can expect the price of this device to be around INR 75,000 when it launches in India.
